The Early Stages Activity Group is designed to provide stimulation and socialisation opportunities for people in the early stages of dementia.  There are two Early Stages Activity Groups, one of which meets at Royal Oak and the other is on the North Shore.

The group meets on a monthly basis and the emphasis is on shared activities in a relaxed forum.  The groups are supervised by two Alzheimers Auckland staff members and include group outings  to places such as parks, MOTAT and the Museum.  Activities can also involve music, art and recreation and quiz games have proved popular.
