Annual Appeal

In July each year, Alzheimers Annual Appeal takes place in the form of Cuppa for A Cause.  Companies, groups and individuals organise 'cuppa' morning or afternoon teas with gold coin donations from participants.  Some organisations host a quiz night or a photo memory board competition - whatever the event, the occasion is viewed as a fund-raising, social opportunity which also helps to raise positive awareness of dementia.  We would like to thank all of the organisations and groups in 2009  that entered into the spirit of Cuppa and acknowledge some of the bigger contributors:

Ministry of Health

We thank the Ministry of Health for co-funding Alzheimers Auckland Inc for services delivered in dementia information and education.  Alzheimers Auckland Inc holds contracts with two District Health Boards, the Waitemata District Health Board and the Auckland District Health Board.   The contracts provided co-fund approximately 45% of the services we deliver.

Progressive Enterprises Ltd and Rotary Club of Parnell

We are very privileged to be the recipients of the Progressive Enterprises Charity Golf Day, organised by the Rotary Club of Parnell.  The 2008 Charity Golf Day raised $106,000 for Alzheimers Auckland Inc and this has enabled the expansion of our vital services.

Community Groups

Many community groups support us through hosting a "Cuppa for a Cause"  or running events to benefit us. Blockhouse Bay Bowling Club host an annual lunch for us which makes a valuable contribution.
